- 노래에 관한 뒷 이야기 -

독일계 미국인이며
자칭 괴테의 후손이라고 말하는 Bertie Higgins는,
1937년 미국의 작은 어촌에서 태어났다.
고교때부터 밴드를 결성해 음악인생 펼치기 시작
1982년 경, 내가 인생불혹의 나이 '두살'이 되던 그해
우리에게도 매우 친숙한 이노래
Casablanca를 수록한 싱글앨범 [Key Largo]를 발표해
전세계의 차트를 누비며 히트행렬에 들어선다.
Bertie Higgins는 3~40년대 영화들(Casablanca, Key Largo 등등)에 심취한
영화 광이기도 했는데,
이 곡을 쓰던 당시까지,
여자친구 한번 사귀어 보지 못한 그는
Humphrey Bogart와 Ingrid Bergman이 주연한 영화 Casablanca를 보고
연애적 시상을 잔뜩 끌어올려 이 곡을 완성했다는 후문이 있다.
(이 곡을 앨범에 수록하여 히트행렬에 들어선 1982년 10월,
 그는 오랜 솔로생활을 청산하고 결혼에 골인한다. ㅋ)
개콘에서 김성호씨가 맡았던 "뮤직토크"라는 코너에서는
이 곡의 가사중
"Popcorn and cokes beneath the stars became champagne and caviar"
라는 부분은
"팝콘에 국수비빔 쓰다 김치옆에는 캔디야"
라고 각색되어져 우리에게 웃음을 주기도 하였다.
